Hey there, Beauties! I hope you’re doing well!! There’s been a video concept going around YouTube’s Beauty section lately in which Influencers talk about what products they would immediately purchase if they had to start their collections over from scratch. I love that concept, so I’m doing a few posts in that vein. The first is today’s, were I’ll be sharing with you all of the Cruelty-Free products I’d buy to resurrect my collection. If you’re interested in seeing what products I’d rush to buy first, just keep on reading.
Now, I’m not exactly a full, 100% Cruelty-Free beauty consumer. However, as I was thinking about what products I’d put together for this post, I realized that I have a lot of faves that are, in fact, Cruelty-Free. For this post, every product I list won’t necessarily be a holy grail product for me, but they will all be products I enjoy to some degree.
With all of that out of the way, let’s get into it!
For primer, I would definitely go for the CoverFX Blurring Primer, $38. This is one of the few primers that truly blurs out my pores without bunching up or making my foundation blend weird. It’s pricey, but worth it for me because, while my skin only gets oily in the summer now, my pores ALWAYS need some blurring lol.
For foundation, it should come as no surprise that I would go with the BareMinerals line. Although their parent company is not, the brand themselves are Cruelty-Free, so for me, it applies. Whether it’s the barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation, $34, or the barePro Performance Wear Powder Foundation, $30, I know that I will have a long-wearing look with either of these. And, since I set my liquid foundation with powder, the two will work perfectly together.
For my brows, I’m definitely picking up the Wet n’Wild Ultimate Brow Retractable Pencil, $3.99. I love the shape of this pencil, as the tip is more of a triangular one than a typical micropencil tip, so it makes application pretty quick. The formula isn’t too creamy or too dry, so I’d definitely pick this up if I was rebuilding my collection with only CF products.
For my CF mascara, I’m definitely going with the NYX Worth the Hype, $7.99. It’s one of my favorite drugstore mascaras, so it would definitely be my first instinctual CF mascara purchase. Plus, it’s super affordable so I could stock up if needed. It gives amazing volume without making the lashes super clumpy.
It’s right back to my faves BareMinerals when it comes to blush. Their Gen Nude Powder Blush, $24, in Peachy Keen is my absolute favorite blush EVER. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up a new one of it was suddenly missing from my collection. These blushes are pigmented without being TOO pigmented, so they blend quite easily and last all day on the skin without fading.
Picking a highlighter was super difficult. My immediate reflex was to go for a Becca highlighter, since those have been staples in my collection for years. However, I wanted to go with something versatile. My thought process was to pick one that I could use with a bunch of different looks, so the Ofra Cosmetics Beverly Hills Highlighter, $32, was the best suited to do that. Since it has a variety of colors in the pan, you can use it with a multitude of eye looks.
You guys know how much I love eyeshadow, so choosing a palette to resurrect my collection from the ashes was definitely the most difficult out of all the categories for me. Not because I like so few CF palettes, but because I love SO MANY!! However, if I’m thinking logically, I’m going to have to go with the Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette, $49. Just like with the highlighter, I chose this palette out of all of the other CF palettes I’ve owned and tried because it’s going to give me the most variety when it comes to looks. I can create a simple, neutral look for work, or amp things up and create a serious smokey eye with this palette.
I didn’t choose a liner or setting spray, because neither of those are priority items in my collection or daily makeup application. Most days, I honestly don’t use either.
Finally, the last product I’d buy to complete my Cruelty-Free Only collection rebuild is the coveted Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb, $18. I LOVE this lip gloss so much that I’d run to Sephora to replace it should my whole collection somehow disappear. It wears beautifully and goes with every kind of look imaginable.
Alrighty then, y’all. Those are all of the products I would pick up if I was rebuilding my collection with ONLY Cruelty-Free makeup products. Let me know in the comments what items you would pick up first that are Cruelty-Free. Also, let me know if you guys want to see an all drugstore version of this list next.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
