My Favorite Things: Current Drugstore Faves

faves

Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! I hope you’re having a great day so far. As I told you a while back, I’m not really doing monthly favorites posts. Instead, I’ll just be posting more posts in the My Favorite Things series I started when I first launched the blog. Anywho, today I’ll be sharing with you some of my current drugstore favorites. If you’re interested in seeing what drugstore makeup and skincare I’m loving right now, just keep on reading.

I love when I find awesome products in general, but when I can get something amazing AND affordable, I’m totally on board. Sure, I love my more expensive products, but there’s something special about finding a great makeup or skincare product at the drugstore. So, that’s what we’re going to talk about today. Let me know in the comments if you want to see a high end favorites list as well.

Enough chit chat, let’s get into it!

Whenever I want to use a drugstore foundation in my collection, I find myself reaching for my Revlon Colorstay in Cappuccino, $12.99. It’s great for the days when I’m not looking for a full on beat and just want a nice, medium coverage base. It doesn’t break down on me and feels great on the skin. I’ve reviewed this foundation here on the blog, so you can check it out for my full thoughts on it.

For powders at the drugstore, I have two that I use frequently enough to call them favorites. The Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder, $7.99, rivals my higher end powders for sure. It’s so finely milled and makes the skin feel super smooth. Now, it can get a little heavy and dry looking under my eyes if I use too much, but that’s the same risk I take using other loose powders, so I’m not trippin’ off that. It comes in eight shades, so you can get different shades depending on what you’re going to use it for.

On days when I am using a more fuller coverage foundation and don’t want things to look too heavy, I will set my face with the Covergirl Queen Collection Lasting Matte Finishing Powder, $8.79 at Walgreens. This pressed powder just smooths everything out so nicely without looking heavy or cakey.

I haven’t reviewed these palettes yet, so here’s a spoiler: I love them. I am definitely into the new Bold Obsessions and Most Loved Mattes palettes from Milani, $15 each at Walmart, $20 each on Milani’s website. The mattes are pretty pigmented and blend out so nicely on the eyes. The shimmer shades in the Bold Obsessions are just intense enough to show up without being too shimmery/metallic for daytime wear. I can’t recommend these enough to y’all. Let me know if you still want a full review on these palettes.

If you follow me in Instagram, you’ve seen the Milani Amore Shine Liquid Lipstick, $8.99, in my captions on my daily makeup look posts pretty much every single day. I love these. They’re pigmented and last fairly well on the lips for a more glossy formula. I have four of them and definitely plan on picking up more. I did a This or That post on this and the Buxom Va-Va Plump Liquid Lipsticks and they’re definitely dupes for one another.

Brow-Definer-Pencils

You guys know that I have a serious love affair with my Benefit brow pencils. I use them every single day. However, a brow pencil from the drugstore that is giving my Benefit pencils a run for their money is the Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil, $7.99. The color of the pencil is perfect for my brows. It’s not too warm and not too cool. Another thing I love about this pencil is the texture of it. It’s not one of those borderline greasy pencils that are too waxy and move throughout the day. However, it isn’t so dry that it tugs and pulls my brow hairs out. I even kind of like the little tiny spoolie. It grew on me lol.

For mascaras, I’m living for the new NYX Worth the Hype mascara, $7.99, and the Maybelline Total Temptation mascara, $9.49. Both give me the volume I’m looking for without flaking all over the place. I mean, there isn’t much more to say about these except that they are both pretty awesome and I recommend them both.

Well, those are all of my current favorite drugstore products. Let me know in the comments below what products you’re loving from the drugstore, and if you want to see what my current high end favorites are.

Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
