Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! My brows and I are constantly at war, so I’m always looking for new ammunition to win. Today, I’m putting a few of the ones I’ve tried recently up against my tried and true brow pencils.
Out of all of the makeup tasks, the one that gives me the most stress is filling in my brows. I’ve used all kinds of products, from pencils to pomades, to try and get these things together. Right now, my main jam are brow pencils, so I figured I’d put my fave Benefit pencils up against a few others I’ve tried lately and share with y’all who the victor is.
Enough preamble. Let’s get into it!
We all know that I am heavily loyal to my Benefit Precisely, My Brow and Goof Proof pencils in shade 6. The color is perfect for my dark hair without being too warm. I could go on and on, but I’ve talked them to death enough here. Let’s just go to contestant number 2.
L.A. Girl came out with their Shady Slim Brow Pencil not too long ago. I heard so many people rave about it that I just had to try it. While I like the precision of the fine point, the color I picked up is a little too warm. I grabbed Espresso thinking it would be along the lines of Darkest Brown based on the swatches above. I can technically use it in the front of my brows, but that’s not always my jam. The pencil as a whole is okay, but not one I’m necessarily interested in trying again. It was just ‘meh’ for me. I found that I had to work a little harder than I’m used to for the color payoff. That may have been because of the shade though. Either way, I’m not that impressed.
Oh, Maybelline, how you’ve come through with this one. The Total Temptation Brow Definer definitely surprised me. It’s the perfect combination of the Precisely, My Brow and Goof Proof pencils that I adore. The Total Temptation has the angular point like the Goof Proof pencil, but also gives me the precision I get from a micropencil. The color is perfect and it makes doing my brows a lot less painful than other pencils have. The only thing that’s weird af about this pencil is the baby spoolie. As weird as it is, it actually helps brush the front of the brows really well.
Out of all of the pencils I’ve discussed today, only one can be victorious.
Guys, Maybelline slayed the game with the Total Temptation Brow Definer. I still love my Benefit products, but Maybelline really stood out to me and I’ve been reaching for it regularly.
Let me know in the comments below what your go to brow pencils are so I can try them and do a part two to this post.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
