Hello and welcome back to our regular little corner of the web, Beauties! I know I’ve already told you guys how I feel about this product, but I wanted to give you guys a full review of it.
The Too Faced Chocolate Gold Metallic/Matte Eyeshadow Palette, $49, is probably the best eyeshadow palette I’ve used by the brand in a hot minute, other than that mini palette I got a while ago. In this palette, you get four matte shadows and twelve metallic shadows. Most of the metallics are on the neutral side, with a couple of colorful shades thrown in there, which is typical for Too Faced. Just like all of the other palettes in the Chocolate Bar range, this palette smells like, well, chocolate.
Here are some swatches of the palette that I did on my arm with no primer underneath and no flash photography. As you can see, the shadows are pretty pigmented. The only shade I have yet to use on my eyes in the palette is New Money, the hot pink metallic. All of the others I’ve used at least once. Livin’ Lavish is a purple shade that is subtle enough for me to wear to my square office job and not cause too much conversation. I could’ve done without that huge pan of Chocolate Gold, since I already own a ton of gold shadows. I wish they would have made that pan smaller and put in a blue metallic shade. That would’ve been dope af.
I did notice a little bit of fallout with this palette. Pretty much every metallic shade I used had a little bit of fallout, but nothing that was too ridiculous. The matte shades were blendable and smooth with a minimal amount of fallout.
I definitely think that, if you’re into metallic shadows, this is a palette worth your time. If you’ve had your eye on it, I say GET IT. The shadows last really well on the eyes whether you use a primer or not.
Let me know in the comments below what you think of the palette.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
