Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! Today, we’re gonna get to know Margoux Le Roux, one of the most talented makeup artists I know.

First of all, can we talk about how gorgeous Margoux is?! Sheesh!!

Margoux Le Roux is a published hairstylist and makeup artist, her work gracing the pages of Harper’s Bazaar KZ, Elle Greece, Vogue and more. But wait, there’s more! Not only has Margoux done amazing work in magazines, she also has worked with athletes and other entertainment avenues.

Here’s a clip from Margoux’s video portfolio on her website. Throughout this post, you’ll see photos of some of the amazing looks she’s created.

So, me being me, instead of going with the the typical kind of interview questions, I wanted to focus on her love of makeup, because I’m always interested in hearing how someone’s passion for something evolves.

TRGR: When did you fall in love with makeup?

ML:  I fell in love with makeup when I got my hands on foundation. It was heaven sent! This little bottle of tan liquid was able to temporarily conceal my insecurities. It was my sophomore year in high school and I had horrible acne that left my skin hyper-pigmented. So as a teen, this stuff was like magic.

TRGR: How long have you been a working makeup artist?

ML: I have been on my makeup journey for about 12 years.

TRGR:  What or who inspired you to go into the field?

ML:  I was inspired by Makeup Artist Dr. Kym Lee, also in DC. I didn’t really know of any celebrity artist or what that even meant at the time. She knew my family well and I always admired her work. One day, she brought me on the set of a Master P Music Video that she was working on giving me a peek into her world. I instantly fell in love.

TRGR: What is your favorite part about being a makeup artist?

ML:  My favorite part about being a makeup artist is working with other creatives to bring a vision to life.

TRGR: Can you remember the first makeup product you ever purchased? If so, what was it?

ML: It was that little tan bottle of foundation. Lol I think I got it from the beauty supply store.

TRGR: What makeup advice would you give to someone looking to begin wearing makeup?

ML: My advice is less is more. Start small with one facial feature you want to enhance and build from there.

TRGR: What are your most loved/least favorite makeup brands (drugstore and high end)?

ML: I like to mix colors and textures from different brands. However, I do often grab my Black Opal foundations, Iman Cosmetics foundations and Makeup Forever Flash Palette to create my looks.

TRGR:  If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take three makeup items from any category with you, what would they be?

ML: If I were stranded, I would take my Mascara, Makeup Forever Flash Palette and makeup wipes. I could use those wipes for a few other things since I am stranded and all. Lol.
