Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! This is the first eyeshadow palette review of the new year, and I’m super excited about it.
I showed you guys in this week’s Products I’m Testing This Week post the palette I’ll be reviewing for you today. It came out a few months ago, but I just picked it up this past weekend since it was on sale. I’ve had so much fun testing it out and can’t wait to share my thoughts with you.
Enough preamble, let’s get into it!
The Urban Decay Troublemaker Palette, $39 but currently on sale for $24, is one of the most recent releases from UD. In the palette, you get eight full pan shadows, and one split pan. I love the packaging for this palette, because it’s small enough to fit in my purse or makeup bag so I can do my eyeshadow on the go. You guys know I do my eye makeup when I get to work, so this palette’s size makes that super easy for me.
Here are some swatches I did of the palette with no primer underneath the shadows:
I’ve been experimenting more with color lately, so I was super happy to see that this palette has a good balance of the neutrals I love and some colorful shimmer shades that I may not have tried otherwise (although I also hauled the Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette this week, but I digress).
I found the mattes to be fairly soft and buttery, with the exception of the shade Relish. That red matte shade is a little more dry than the other mattes in the palette, but still a nice, easy to blend shadow. The shimmer shades all have the same feeling to the touch when you swatch them, which was awesome because the slight inconsistency within the matte shades had me a little nervous. I was glad to see that all of the shimmer shades were equally soft and pigmented.
In my opinion, this palette is perfect for doing quick looks on the go. You have your transition, crease, and lid shades all in one place to create a variety of different looks.
So, I definitely think that this is a palette you guys should pick up. GET IT for sure, especially now since it’s on sale. Oh, before I forget to mention it. Included with the palette, you get a travel size of the UD Troublemaker mascara. The mascara isn’t my absolute favorite, but it’s workable for sure. I like to layer it with other mascaras personally, since I already had it prior to getting the palette.
Anywho, let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried this palette or plan on picking it up.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
