Product Spotlight: Standout Products of the Week (12/18-12/22)

Welcome back, Beauties!! I must say that this was a pretty bomb makeup week for me, and that’s definitely because of the products I’m about to mention.

I’m such a creature of habit. When I find something I like that works, I typically stick to it no matter what else I’m supposed to be testing. For example, I was testing two foundations this week, but still managed to mix in an old fave with one to see how that would work. I’ll be including all of that in my review of the foundations next week, but here’s a little spoiler: it was awesome!

Now, let’s get into this week’s star products!

I mentioned the bareMinerals Correcting Concealer (I wear the shade Dark 2 for reference) in my Best Concealers of 2017 post (click HERE in case you missed it), but I had been neglecting it over the past few weeks. I’m so glad I picked it back up this week because it’s such a hydrating concealer, and since it’s been windy and cold where I live, this has been just what my already dry under eyes needed. The creasing is minimal (ALL concealers crease on me, so there’s that) and it doesn’t get all weird on me over the course of the day.

You guys, a lot of hyped up products end up being trash. This right here is not one of them. The Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder is BOMB!!!! It doesn’t make your foundation or concealer look cakey and legit looks like you’ve put a filter on your face. I have pretty large, pronounced pores, and this powder blurs them in a way that very few powders have for me. Like, this $7.99 powder from the drugstore performs better than a lot of high end loose powders I’ve tried. My skin is pretty dry this time of year, and I find that this powder doesn’t accentuate my dry spots or dry my skin out.

KatVonD- Metal Crush Collection

My favorite product this week, hands down, are the Kat Von D Metal Crush eyeshadows that my good friend Georgia sent me. These are some of the best metallic shadows I have ever used, hands down. I experienced zero fallout and found them to last all day on my lids whether I had concealer on my lids as primer or not. I highly recommend these to you whether you’re into color or not since there are a few shades in the range that aren’t super bold.

You guys already know how much I adore the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Liquid Lipsticks. Well, I picked up a new shade, Shake Down, and I literally wore it almost every day this week, so I had to mention it in this post. It’s the perfect nude shade for me. It’s not too dark and it’s not too light. It goes on a little bit darker and more warm than it looks in the tube, which is fine for me. I definitely recommend this shade for my Beauties with more melanin in their skin that have difficulty finding a nude shade that doesn’t make them look like a ghost. Unless you’re into that look, of course.

Those are all of my standout products for this week. Let me know in the comments below what yours were.

Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
