Hey there, Beauties!! This Best of 2017 post has been the hardest for me to narrow down so far. I love eyeshadow palettes, so choosing my favorites of the year took a lot of effort.
You guys know that I am something of an eyeshadow palette addict. The only makeup item that I purchase more are lip products. I definitely have more lipsticks than palettes, but you get my point. Anywho, when choosing the palettes for this post, I sat back and thought about what palettes were the most used by me this year, whether I reviewed them or not. As always, if I have reviewed a palette mentioned, I will link it in the post.
Now that we’ve gotten the formalities out of the way, let’s get into it!
I know that this is technically a face palette, but there are eyeshadows in it too, so it totally counts. The Tarte Clay Play Palette is one I used so much in the first half of the year that I’m surprised I didn’t hit pan on any of the shadows. They just blend so nicely an are perfect for all matte looks or to give you crease shades for those all shimmer palettes and single shadows in your collection. I haven’t done a dedicated review to this palette, but it’s definitely appeared here on the blog numerous times, so feel free to enter ‘clay play’ into the search bar to pull up all of the blog posts I’ve referenced it in. It’s currently on sale at Ulta and Sephora, so if you’ve wanted to check it out, now’s the time!
You guys, this palette was probably the biggest shocker of the year for me. I didn’t expect to like this at all, much less constantly reach for it like I have. The Too Faced Matte Chocolate Chip palette pretty much became my go-to for doing my eyeshadow almost every day. It’s freaking fantastic. The formula is reminiscent of the Too Faced we came to know and love from the original Chocolate Bar palettes. They’re nicely pigmented and blend so nicely it’s almost as if they blend themselves. I did a review of it in a Review Roundup post last month that you can check out HERE. Just know that this stays in my makeup bag regardless of what other palettes I’m testing that week.
Lastly, I have to say that my Colourpop palettes really stole the show for me this year. The Yes, Please, I Think I Love You and My Little Pony palettes are still ones I reach for constantly. I’ve talked to you guys about my love for Colourpop pressed shadows so much that I’m going to spare you the repetition. You guys already know how I feel about them. They’re definitely my most recommended and most used eyeshadow palettes from this year, without question. Just search ‘Colourpop’ in the search bar here on the blog and you’ll see the plethora of posts I’ve done about these palettes.
Out of all of the palettes that I tested and enjoyed this year, these are the ones that I know without a doubt I adored this year and would recommend over and over. Let me know in the comments what your favorite eyeshadow palettes were this year.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
