Get It or Forget It?: Colourpop x Kathleen Lights Dream St. Palette

Hello there, Beauties!! I picked up the latest Colourpop 12-pan palette and wanted to share my thoughts on it with you in case you were interested in getting it for yourself or as a gift.

The Dream St. palette is the most recent collaboration between Colourpop and YouTuber Kathleen Lights. There are also three lippies in the collab, but today’s review is solely about the eyeshadow palette.

The Dream St. palette is in the traditional Colourpop 12-pan pressed eyeshadow format. The formula is consistent with what we’ve come to expect from the CP pressed shadows. The great thing about Colourpop is that they don’t raise the prices on their collaboration items. The Dream St. palette is $16 just like the majority of their other 12-pan palettes, which is awesome. Most companies will hike the price up when they collab with Influencers.

Here are some swatches of the palette. The image on the left is without the flash on, while the image on the right is with flash. As always, I swatched the palette with a finger and no primer underneath. As you can see, the shadows are rich in pigment just like the other Colourpop pressed shadows they have.

I then wiped the shadows with a towel like JenLuvsReviews does to show how they shadows will fade throughout the day, and you can see that the darker shades will hold on pretty well without a primer.

I was drawn to this palette because of the teal shades Water Bearer and Mermaid Boy because I don’t have anything else like them in my collection. The palette as a whole is great, which I wasn’t surprised to see. I did notice that, for whatever reason, I experienced a little bit more fallout from this palette than I have with the other Colourpop pressed shadow palettes I have. They all have some fallout for sure, but I found this one to have just a little bit more with certain shades than what I’m used to. I can deal with the fallout because they blend like a dream without taking a whole bunch of time and work.

As a whole, I definitely think that this palette is worthy of your $16. I know that some people have an issue with Kathleen Lights that I’m not even going to address in this post because I’m not here for the drama. If you are interested in the palette, I definitely think you should GET IT.

Have you picked up the Dream St. palette? Did you love it? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
