Get It or Forget It?: Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For Primer

Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! Today’s review is on a fairly new primer that I’m finally done testing out.

I’m one of those people that firmly believes in the power of a good primer. I can tell the difference in the way my makeup looks and lasts throughout the day when i wear primer and when I don’t. So, when I heard about the new primer from Peter Thomas Roth, I was excited to give it a try.

Here are the deets on this primer. The Skin to Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector, $28, is available at Ulta, Sephora, and on the Peter Thomas Roth Website. You get 1oz. of product in the tube, which isn’t bad for a primer at all. According to the Ulta website, here’s what the product claims to do:

This sheer, lightweight, mattifying primer provides instant results with long-term benefits. AuraSpheres and gransil EP-9 instantly blur, fill and help reduce the look of pores, fine lines and imperfections with a natural-looking matte finish. A powerful mattifying complex absorbs excess oil with AberMat while powerful Disa-Pore 20 and Evermat help reduce the appearance of pore size and shape over time.Subtle, universal tint instantly blends with any skin tone and shade. Can be used under makeup for flawless, professional-looking results, or alone for a naturally beautiful, no-filter look. For all skin types.

Okay so, I’m going to get straight to the point in this review. I don’t like this. It doesn’t do anything for my pores, which was the main reason I got it. I didn’t notice any major mattification (is that even a word?! smh) of my skin either. Products like this are why people doubt the legitimacy of primers. I used this for about a month and saw no results, short term or long term as the product claims. I’m just not into this whatsoever.

Clearly, I’m going to have to say that this product is a definite FORGET IT for me. I didn’t see any of the results the product claims to provide.

Have you guys tried this primer? If so, did you have a better experience than I did? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
