Happy Thursday, Beauties!! Today, we’re going to take a stroll down memory lane and revisit one of the most iconic, and largest, Black-owned brands ever.
Growing up, I remember seeing Fashion Fair products in my mother’s bathroom and in the homes of so many of my friends. It’s the first Black-owned beauty brand that I remember hearing about. This brand has been around since 1973, and is still going strong.
As you can see in the image above, Fashion Fair has maintained relevancy in today’s beauty market by putting out products like stick foundations, which are very on trend lately. In 2008, the brand did a huge overhaul and brought out products with more contemporary packaging and a wider shade range.
Fashion Fair products are still available in stores and at makeup counters across the US, as well as in Canada, Africa, France, and the Caribbean. The availability of such a prestigious Black-owned brand in so many places is definitely one way they have maintained their status in the industry.
Do you remember seeing Fashion Fair products in your mom’s makeup bag like I do? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
