Welcome back, Beauties! Last week, I shared with you some of the hyped up beauty products that I love. Well, today we’re going to talk about products on the opposite end of the spectrum.
Now, before we even get into this, I feel obliged to give the disclaimer that these are products that didn’t work FOR ME. By no means am I saying that these are terrible products, or that you’re trash for liking them. These are products that I’M not into for one reason or another.
So anyway, these products I’m about to mention are ones that are all over the socials and YouTube that people swear by that I personally just can’t rock with for whatever reason.
You guys, I hate Tarte Shape Tape. I know that most of you are looking at me with shock and disgust right now, but I’m not here to mislead you. I find Shape Tape to be super drying on my already dry under eye, which ends up making me look super old and crazy as the day goes by. I’ve tried using the smallest amount and adding heaps of under eye cream and nothing made it work for me. I’ve had three different shades and decluttered them all because I just can’t with this AT ALL.
So many people I know have called this foundation the best thing poppin’ at the drugstore, and I just don’t get the hype. The Wet n’Wild PhotoFocus Foundation just doesn’t look good on my skin. I don’t know if it’s the shades I’ve tried or my application methods, but it just doesn’t sit on my skin the way I like. I’ve tried numerous primers and setting powders with it, and I always end up looking crazy. Plus, it makes my face itchy for some reason, so it’s most definitely a hard pass for me.
So many people that I know in real life, as well as watch online, swear by the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks, and I just can’t get with the program on these. They are HELLA drying on my lips and wear really weird on me, for lack of a better term. I bought the set shown above with the sole purpose of finally trying out the formula and found myself greatly disappointed. I tried putting a gloss over them and that was even more of a disaster for me. If you love these, please tell me how you make them work, because I want to give them one more go before I declutter them.
The NYX Lip Lingerie lipsticks definitely hustled me. After watching tons of reviews and seeing millions of gorgeous pics on IG, I just knew that these were gonna be the liquid lipsticks to change my life. Ummm, no. First of all, the shades that seemed the deepest in the bottle STILL looked hella ashy on my. Then, I tried them with lip liners. Nope, still didn’t work. On top of the color being off on my skin, they went on patchy and weird. You guys, if these are your jam, more power to you, but I just cannot with these. Once again, these are an item I’ve decluttered more than once.
These are the products that immediately stood out to me as ones full of hype that I just can’t get into. Let me know in the comments what are your least favorite hyped up products.
Until next time, Beauties! xoxo
