Get It or Forget It?: New and Upcoming Releases

Welcome back, Beauties! I’ve been enjoying going over some new and upcoming releases with you guys, so I decided to make this a weekly thing.

I won’t bore you with a hefty preamble today. Let’s just get right into it.

Becca Cosmetics just released their Light Waves Highlighter palette, in which you get three of their pressed highlighters in Pink Sapphire, a brand new shade, Moonstone and Prismatic Amethyst. Moonstone and Prismatic Amethyst are shades that have been out for a while. I own Prismatic Amethyst in the full size and I love it. From the swatches, Pink Sapphire looks like it’s going to be gorgeous on deeper skin, which is always a concern of mine when it comes to highlighters of a certain color. This palette is currently only available on the Becca website, and we don’t know if it will become available anywhere else yet. Y’all know I love Becca’s highlighters, so I’m probably gonna Get It.

Wet n’Wild recently put out a holiday set of pro brushes in silver that you can find at Walgreens for $30. Well, it looks like Wet n’Wild will be releasing them as single brushes in a rose gold finish this December. I don’t have the exact release date for those yet, but will keep you posted on Instagram when they’re available. I have a few of the original Wet n’Wild brushes, and they’re okay. I like some more than others, but definitely recommend them for beginners looking for decent brushes at an affordable price. These new brushes, however? I’m definitely planning to Get a few to try out.

Beauty Bakerie posted the above photo on Instagram last night of what looks to be a face palette. The colors look like they will be perfect for men and women with deeper skin tones, so I’m considering it. That ‘You’re Grounded’ shade looks like the shade of gold I typically go for in a highlighter, but I’m not sure how much use I would get out of the other three shades. I’m on the fence about this one, y’all.

I feel like this week is all about highlighter palettes. This is the Kat Von D Metal Crush highlighting palette that will be a limited-edition item available at Sephora this month sometime. According to Kat Von D’s Instagram page, the three shades can be used wet or dry, and are named ROSESHOCK (metallic pink with lavendar and pink shimmer), HELIX (metallic opal with gold and silver shimmer), and GAMMARAY (metallic peach with gold shimmer). I think this is one I’m going to have to Forget. The colors are pretty, but I already have highlighters in these colors. If you end up getting it, definitely let me know how it performs. You might change my mind lol.

Smashbox just released matte metallic versions of their Always On Liquid Lipsticks. You can currently get them at Ulta for $24 each. I’ve tried the metallic Be Legendary Liquid Lipstick that they came out with earlier this year that aren’t matte, and liked them enough to keep them, so I’m definitely curious about the matte version. Their matte liquid lipstick formula is one of my favorite formulas available right now. I think I’m going to hold off on deciding about this product until I swatch it in stores. We shall definitely revisit this product again soon.

The last product we’re gonna talk about today is the Too Faced Ultimate Chocolate Vault. For $225, you’re going to get all three of the Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palettes, the mini Chocolate and White Chocolate Bar palettes, all of the Chocolate Soleil bronzers, and three of the Melted Chocolate lippies. *deep sigh* Okay y’all. If you’re someone that has always wanted the Chocolate Bar palettes, I can understand purchasing the vault. For me personally, this wouldn’t make sense for me to spend my money on, and I’m gonna tell you why. First of all, I would only be able to wear one out of the three shades of bronzer. Secondly, I had the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette and decluttered it to a friend because I never used it. Repurchasing it, as well as the other two that I never wanted in the first place, is just not ideal for me. Thirdly, I just bought the mini Chocolate Bar, and never wanted the White Chocolate Chip palette. Basically, I’m going to have to Forget It when it comes to this vault. I think it would be a great gift for the Too Faced lover in your life, or, as I said earlier, for someone that has never tried any of these products before. For me, it’s a hard pass.

That’s it for today, my loves. Let me know in the comments below if you’re going to be picking up any of these products.

Until next time!! xoxo
