Welcome back, Beauties!! Today, I’m going to share with you some of the B.O.M.B., aka Black-Owned Makeup Brands, that I’ve been eager to try.
As a woman of color, finding products that provide me with the pigmentation that I need in order to show up on my skin can be the epitome of struggle. Admittedly, I have often fallen into the trap of convenience and popularity, purchasing what is the most readily available in-store, rather than digging a little deeper and purchasing from brands that are only available online. This is something I am looking to change, as I definitely want to support more companies that cater to men and women of color.
So, here are some of the B.O.M.B. that I am looking to try ASAP.
Juvia’s Place makes some of the most gorgeous eyeshadow palettes I’ve ever seen. And from what I hear, they perform just as nicely as they look. The pricing is reasonable as well, which is an added bonus. They just released a new palette, The Saharan II, that is just stunning. I’m into it for sure.
As an avid lipstick collector, I have no idea why I’m still out of the loop when it comes to The Lip Bar. According to their website, they launched in 2012, and are a cruelty-free AND Vegan brand. They have everything from lipstick to lip gloss, so I will definitely be placing an order soon to try their products out. I also read that they are available on the Target website, which makes them even more accessible. I can’t wait to try them out!!
Skincare is such an essential part of makeup, so I was super happy to find Bahi Cosmetics while researching B.O.M.B. in preparation for this post. Bahi’s most popular product is their Sunflower Sweets Serum that is supposed to help with hydration, dark spots and acne control. They also carry eyeshadows, lashes (coming soon), powdered highlighters, and, of course, a wide range of skincare products.
The Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts palette is one of the most coveted palettes in the industry. So much so that the once limited-edition item was recently made a permanent part of Coloured Raine’s stock. Their liquid lipsticks are also hugely discussed online. They recently came out with four mini palettes (bottom image shown above) as well. With so many options, I know I’ll find something to love.
Let me know in the comments below what your favorite B.O.M.B. is so I can add them to my list of brands to try. Also, tag me on their Instagram pages (@theregulargirlreviews) so I can follow them.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
