Well hello there, beauties! It’s the end of the month, so you know what that means. It’s time to discuss my favorite products of October.
I tried and used some really great products this month. Some of them I’ve talked to you guys about, others I haven’t, so I look forward to sharing my Regular Girl Approved products with you. They’re aren’t in any particular order as far as best and worst.
Enough preamble. Let’s get into it.
My first favorite of the month is no surprise if you’ve been reading my posts lately. I LOVE my Colourpop pressed eyeshadows. Click on the image to get the names of the palettes. I’ve found myself reaching for them every single day since I depotted them and put them in my Tarte magnetic palette (first image on the left), which is also a favorite of mine. These shadows are just super blendable and pigmented that I can’t stop using them. I definitely, DEFINITELY recommend you pick up either one of the Colourpop palettes or some of their single shadows and give the formula a try.
The Becca Apres Ski Glow Face Palette, $54 has definitely been one of the biggest standout products for me this month. Typically, I stay away from things like this because I can never use all of the shades, so buying the palette is a waste of my money. I was pleasantly surprised when I swatched this in store and saw that every color is wearable for me in one way or another. The bronzer will be a great shade for me as I get my winter pale here in a few weeks. The only shade I haven’t worn on my face is Icicle, the white highlighter in the middle of the first row of the palette. I have, however, worn it as an eyeshadow. I love this palette. Get it. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
This foundation right here, y’all. I just did a review on it that you can read by clicking here. If you read it, you know how I feel about the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation. I love it. I love using it with a beauty sponge (I prefer the Real Techniques sponge over any other I’ve tried, just an FYI) or a brush like the Moda Rose 801 brush shown in the picture. You guys, this foundation claims to be full coverage, and you can definitely build it up to that level of coverage if you’re into that. For me, I use about a pump and a half to get a slightly lighter coverage and it looks AMAZING!! I wear shade 530 Suede C for reference. It literally lasts all day on your face without breaking down or anything. Get into it, y’all.
We all know that I have Saharan-level dry under eyes, so I need the most hydrating eye cream possible, and this one is it. The Mario Badescu Glycolic Eye Cream, $20, is fantastic. It hydrates my under eye and I’ve noticed a difference in the lines under my eyes. Look, I’m 37, so things are starting to change. This eye cream is really emollient, so I definitely recommend using it at night as the packaging says. If you suffer from fine lines and a super dry under eye like I do, I highly recommend this.
For mascara this month, if I wasn’t testing something out, I was wearing the Lancome Monsieur Big, $25, for sure. I’ve spoken to you guys about this mascara before, so you know I adore it. It just gives me the perfect amounts of length and volume without flaking during the day. It is a little pricey for a mascara, but it’s worth the money in my opinion. I would definitely repurchase this once I get through some of the mascaras I have in my collection.
For face powders, I’ve been hooked on the I Want Kandee Banana Pudding face powder from the Kandee Johnson x Too Faced collection. I didn’t see it on Ulta’s website, and I know it was a limited edition product, so I’m not sure if you can get it anymore. However, you might be able to find one in an actual Ulta store. If you can, snatch it up, because this powder is basically a filter in a compact. Not only does it set concealer without making anything cakey, it helps mattify your skin while blurring out your pores.
Even before the weather called for more rich fragrances, I was wearing the YSL Black Opium perfume. This has been my go to fragrance since the summer, and I don’t see myself not wearing it anytime soon. According to the Ulta website, this fragrance has notes of vanilla and black coffee, so the perfume is rich yet sweet at the same time. In the warmer months, I would layer this with the Tarte Sweet Tarte fragrance to really draw out the sweeter notes of the YSL perfume. I just love it.
There you have it, beauties. These are all of the products I’ve been loving this month. Let me know in the comments below or on Instagram (@theregulargirlreviews) what products you were into this month.
Until next time, beauties!! xoxo
