My Makeup Collection: Highlighters

This is how my highlighters are stored in my collection (bottom drawer), except for my highlighting palettes that are too big to fit in the drawers.

We’re going to take a look at my sparkly things today and discuss my highlighter collection. You guys will definitely notice a trend once you see what I have. Let’s get into it!

Here they are, y’all. My coveted highlighters. When I first got into makeup, I wasn’t really concerned with highlighting my face. I figured that since my skin is combo/oily, my natural shine was enough. I quickly discovered that highlighter was the icing on the cupcake. I typically go for gold and bronze-toned highlights because they look the best with my skin in my opinion. However, if you look at the pictures above, you’ll see that I’m slowly starting to branch out into lighter shades. I find that, as long as I go in lightly and really blend them in well, a lighter shade will work for me as well. Also, I’m not necessarily into a beam to Mars kind of highlight. I prefer a more natural, subtle highlight on most days. TIP: If you find that you’ve totally gone overboard with the highlight, just take your powder or foundation brush that has a little product still on it and go over it to smooth out the edges and tone it down.

Now that I’ve dragged it out enough, here’s a list of my absolute favorites that I always reach for.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed, pricing varies based on size

If you look at my collection of highlighters, you’ll see that the Becca formula is clearly my favorite. I have six of them and just got the Apres Ski Glow Face Palette as well (review coming next week). I have all the ‘Pops’ (Champagne and Prosecco) and the beauty shown above, Lilac Geode, in addition to a few others. The formula is just fantastic. They don’t emphasize my pores or texture and are so smooth on the skin. I’ve talked y’all to absolute death about them, but Becca’s highlighters are just everything, and I can’t recommend them enough.

I recently put the Becca highlighters up against my other favorites in a Makeup Battle, and they clearly won. Here’s some links to those highlighters:
