My Makeup Collection: Blush and Bronzer

Today, as we continue to dig through my makeup collection, we’ll be talking about my blush and bronzer collection. Keep reading to see what I’ve got, and what I love.

The picture on the left are my single blushes. On the right, I have my blush palettes and a couple of highlighting palettes that you’ll see again when I talk about my highlighter collection.

Blush is something that I didn’t get into until fairly recently, within the last year and a half I’d say. For me, I never thought that the blushes I’d see in stores would show up on my deep skin tone. Boy, was I wrong! As you can see in the images above, I definitely have a preference when it comes to the shade of blush I wear. The deeper the pink, the better. Anything too light will just look ashy on me, so there’s a fine line I have to cross.

A few of my favorite blushes are:

Becca Mineral Blush, $32

I have a few of the Luminous Blushes from Becca as well, but the Mineral Blush formula is probably my favorite. They are super pigmented and go on the cheeks so nicely. Even on days when I’m not wearing foundation, they last for a majority of the day on my cheeks. I definitely suggest picking one up if you haven’t tried them yet. They have shades that will suit just about every skin tone. They aren’t all as deep as this one, I promise.

Tarte Blush Bliss Blush Palette (limited edition), $39

Holiday palettes of any kind tend to get a bad reputation because some brands will put products out that aren’t as good as their permanent items. I’ve used the regular Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes many times, and happily found this blush palette to be just as good as the permanent blushes in the line. Lovable is probably my favorite shade in the palette that I’ve used so far. I’m still testing the other shades, and will have a full review on the blog about this and a couple of other holiday face palettes I’ve picked up. Even though this is fairly new to my collection, the formula is spot on to the permanent Tarte blushes, so I love it.

Sleek MakeUP Flame Blush x 3 Palette, $13.99

I’ve tried quite a few blush formulas, both drug store and high end, and I have to say that the Sleek ones are the most pigmented ones I’ve ever used. I’m no sure what magical potion is in them, but they are just fantastic. You have to use a light hand and tap off your brush for sure when you use them, or things will get real clowny, real fast. Y’all, try these. Period.

Now, I’m no the biggest bronzer aficionado. Like, I’ll wear it, but typically forget about it when I’m rushing in the morning to throw my face together. The bronzers shown above are all favorites of mine for the same reason, and that’s because they’re matte. I’m not into the shimmery bronzer situation, and it’s hard to find matte ones that are going to work on my skin and aren’t super red.

All of the bronzers shown above give my face warmth without getting patchy or funny looking. I’ll link them all for you below with my shade so you can check them out if you haven’t already.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Dark Chocolate, $30

Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Bronzer in Hotel Heiress, $30

NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep Tan, $8.99

Lorac TANtalizer Buildable Bronzer in Tan Lines, $32

Becca Sunlit Bronzer in Ipanema Sun, $38

So, those are all of my blushes and bronzers that I would highly recommend to anyone that’s looking to try something new. Leave me a comment below or tag me in Instagram (@theregulargirlreviews) with some of your favorite blush and bronzer formulas so I can give them a try if I haven’t already.
