My Favorite Things: Drugstore Skincare

Good skincare doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, y’all. The drugstore can come all the way through for you, I promise. Keep reading to see a few of my favorite drugstore skincare products.

Yes To Cucumbers 2 Step Eye Kit, $3.99

As someone with the driest under eye in the free world, kits like this are a lifesaver. I have tried more expensive under eye masks and did not find them as effective for my needs as the Yes To Cucumbers ones are. Step 1 are the eye masks and Step 2 is the eye cream you use after removing the masks, and that stuff is awesome. It hydrates the under eye without being greasy or feeling heavy.

Simple Skincare Micellar Cleansing Water, $2.69 currently @ Walgreens

Most micellar waters that I’ve tried leave that weird residue on my skin after using them, so I was happy to find that this one doesn’t. I find that it not only removes even the toughest mascara, it also is great for getting my face clean and feeling fresh first thing in the morning. This saves me so much time because I don’t have to go through all the cleansing steps. I just saturate my cotton round, swipe it across my face, and I’m good to go.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Oil-Free Moisturizer, $10.43 on Amazon

I first purchased this at my local Harris Teeter grocery store on a whim. I was looking for a day cream that was going to hydrate my face without making it super greasy. As a person with oily skin, it can be difficult to find a moisturizer that can provide that balance. For me, this one is it from the drugstore. It has a thin consistency, so it never feels heavy on the skin, and smells great. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight, yet hydrating, daytime face cream.
