YouTube is most definitely where I find out about what’s new to the beauty world, and usually my guide for what I will or will not buy. Today, we will talk about the Kandee Johnson Collection with Too Faced, because YouTube definitely made me buy some items from the collection.

The I Want Kandee Kandee Johnson x Too Faced Collection that launched at Ulta earlier this month, admittedly, did not appeal to me upon first hearing about it. However, once I saw Kandee’s video in which she used all of the products and gave more details about them, I was hooked. I didn’t purchase the whole collection, because some things just didn’t appeal to me, but I got a good portion of it and have some thoughts on what I’ve used.

The I Want Kandee Banana Pudding, $30

I did not expect to like this as much as I do. I was concerned that the color of the powder would make my face look ghostly and ashy if the powder wasn’t yellow enough. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case at all. I apply it with a fluffy brush to set my concealer and oily spots on my face, and have found that it really does blur my pores and keep me matte without looking crazy. It doesn’t smell as much like banana pudding as much as I thought it would, which isn’t a bad thing. This is definitely my favorite item from the collection that I’ve tried.

The I Want Kandee Melted Matte lipstick, $21

This was my first experience with the Too Faced Melted Matte liquid lipstick formula, and I’m digging it. There are four shades total in the collaboration; Melted Ice Cream (the lightest shade), Freshly Baked (mauvey shade), Tropical Punch (pinky-purple shade) and Sweet N Sour (shown above). They’re comfortable and don’t make my lips Sahara desert dry.

There is also an eye shadow palette, a liquid liner and a cream highlighter stick in the collection that I didn’t purchase. I’ve seen positive reviews on all of them, so if they have caught your eye, I’d suggest going to Ulta and checking them out. I’ve been enjoying the items I got from the collection, with the banana powder being the standout for me.

Have you tried anything from the Kandee Johnson x Too Faced Collection? If so, what’s your favorite item?
